Sowing season is Summer & Kharif in month of Feb.-March, June-July under tropical climate. Seed Rate is 3.7 to 7 kg./ha. Spacing is 150-200, 50-60 cm. For bumper yield Farm yard manure 20-25 MT/ha. NKP 50 : 100 : 50 and micronutrients as per soil requirement may be used. 10 to 12 irrigation at appropriate interval should be given.
Crop duration is 80-100 days in summer and 100-120 in rainy season having yield potential 80-120 Qtl green unripen fruit/ha.
Yield is effected by high temperature, heavy rain, climatic condition, soil health, PH of water and pest and insect attack.
