Pumpkin is sown during summer and kharif season from February – to August in different parts of India. Seed rate is 6.5 to 9 kg/ha, spacing is 250-300 x 100-180. Farm yard manure 25-30 MT and 60-80:90:40 kg. N:K:P per hectare. Micronutrients as per soil requirement requirements of irrigation is 8-10 at appropriate intervals.
Crop duration is 100-130 days and yield potential is 250-400 Qtl fruits/ha. However adverse climatic condition, rainfall, temperature, PH soil, insect pest and virus attack may adversely affect the yield.
