Mustard Variety Gaurav-311 - Farming Guide

This is a bold seeded high yielding with high oil content research variety. Plant height is 180 to 200 cm and it is branch type. Best time of sowing is in Rabi September to October. Siliqua are long and angular to radius. Crop duration is 135 to 155 days and can yield 21 to 26 Qtl/ha. The oil content is 39 to 42%. The variety is moderately resistant to discase and pest.

Sowing method by 8kg /ha include broadcasting or sowing in rows 5-6kg/ha with spacing of 30cm. For Nutrient management a balance approach is recommended, such as apply in a dose of N: P: K: S :

Zn @ 60:30: 30:20: 10 kg/ha.

Pest and discase management is to be done for Aphides, White rust and Alternaria blight as on their occurance. However late sowing increases the risk of infestation, so timely sowing is important.
