Fenugreek sowing time for ordinary variety is October-Nov. while for Kasuri Methi is December with 20-25 kg Pretreated seed per hectare and 30-10 cm spacing is ideal. Farm yard manure is 10-15 tonnes/ha, 40 kg N and 40 kg P2 O5 per hectare may be used for manuring and fertilization. About 5-7 irrigations are required at appropriate intervals.
Crop duration is 140-150 days with 70-80 Qtl green leaves or 14 Qtl grain yield per hectare. Kasuri Methi gives 90-100 Qtl green leaves per ha. However adverse climatic condition, rainfall, temperature, PH soil, insect pest and virus attack may adversely affect the yield.
