Chilli Farming Guide

In north India it is grown in kharif and summer whereas in south India it is grown in all season. Seeds rate is 1.5 kg treated seed per hectare to raise nursery bed. During transplanting, spacing depends on habit of variety ranging 60-45 cm to 75-75 cm or 90-90 cm.

Farm yard manure @25-30 tonnes/ha, NKP 120 : 60 : 50 and micronutrients as per soil report may be used. A regular irrigation at appropriate interval depending upon weather and soil type should be done.

Crop duration is about 100-120 days. Normally 2-2.5 tons dry chilli and 7.5-10 tons of green chilli are obtained from one hectare depending upon variety. However adverse climatic condition, rainfall, temperature, PH soil, insect pest and virus attack may adversely affect the yield.
