Crop is sown in Rabi season during September to November in dry soil using 5-6 kg. of seed/ha fungicides & pesticides treated having spacing of 25-45 cm in row and 7-10 cm in plant. Farm yard manure 20-25 MT/ha. NKP 20 : 30 : 30 and micronutrients as per soil requirement to be given. 6-7 irrigation at a interval of 15-20 days.
Temperate climate suitable for crop however it is suspectible to cloudy weather having yield potential of 200-250 Qtl root/ha.
Yield is effected by high temperature, heavy rain, climatic condition, soil health, PH of water and pest and insect attack.
